I Got a New Job

This fall I was what we call a “Busy season” in public accounting world (Yep I worked in public accounting..Big 4 no less) … it means several weeks of working literally non-stop. Nights, weekends… never-ending work. Its grueling.  Exhausting.  Makes you feel like a disgusting pile of mush. No time or energy for anything except accounting. Litteraly working 70-80 hours per week.

While working between the spreadsheets a few weeks ago, I decided that I had enough. I cannot do this again in the spring (I have had two busy season one in the spring, and one in the fall).  I cannot sacrifice anymore time from my family and friends.

After 1.5 years at the job, I did a little job search and landed the perfect job in corporate accounting. While we will still have a “busy season” each year, it is only about 5 weeks long! I am officially a Big 4 accounting verteran! Can’t tell you how good it feels to be out of there!

My backyard this rainy morning

I start my new job monday. That means I have 5 days off and 3 days all to myself! It is a beautiful dreary day here. I love that kind of weather!  How am I going to spend my next three days? hopefully blogging, hopefully budgeting, and hopefully shopping.. I am in need of some new outfits for my new job 🙂 Looks like we will also be doing some car shopping as well 🙁 Hubby’s car would not start this morning so I had to drive him  to work. It’s old and unreliable.. probably just time to move on. Will keep you posted on what we decide!

  1. Congratulations! Good luck at the new job!

  2. Congrats on the dream job, I hope you enjoy the time off.
